As part of the Goethe-Découverte platform, Goethe-Institut Kamerun organized the Penboy’s presentation show entitled Ubuntu ( I am because You are) on 13 May 2022 at 7pm.
Penboy, whose real name is Boris Taleabong Alemnge, comes from Buea and at the age of 21 performed at the Goethe Institute. Penboy is a committed artist who combines poignant texts, costumes and sound effects to make each performance a vehicle for positive messages.
A true Slam and writing enthusiast, he decided to put his law degree to use in the stories he creates and to be a voice for the voiceless and to immerse himself in “artivism”.
Ubuntu show is was from Penboy’s desire to bring Africans to understand that collective efforts, unity and peace (internally and externally) are the only measures to achieve prosperity and development in Africa. This show is a performance where words and sound. are combined to initiate change in all of us.
Goethe-Découverte is a platform that was initiated by the Goethe-Institut Kamerun to provide young and talented Cameroonian artists with a space for presentation and artistic exchange in several disciplines (film, music, literature, theatre, dance, performance, storytelling).
